Starting October 1st 2026, the professional interview will evolve to become the professional career interview (EPP).
This reform changes the way professional development is monitored and encourages companies to rethink their HR practices around skills, training and professional development.
It also provides an eight-year review, which offers a comprehensive view of the employee's career and the actions taken during that period.
What are the main developments?
The new Professional Development Plan (EPP) provides for:
- a first interview during the first year following hiring
- then an interview every 4 years
- specific appointments at certain stages of the career, notably around mid-career and at the end of the career
The EPP provides a real opportunity to exchange information about the employee’s career path, skills, development needs, and prospects for professional advancement.
The 8-year review: a separate summary overview
Every 8 years, a summary report is prepared.
Different from the EPP, this report allows for a review of the employee’s professional career and an overview of the actions and developments that have taken place over the past eight years.
It thus offers a comprehensive view of the process, complementary to the exchanges conducted as part of the EPPs.
What impact will this have on HR teams?
Beyond compliance, the EPP reform raises new questions for companies: how to adapt their processes? How to support managers? How to keep up with new deadlines? And how to exploit the data from interviews?
The SIRH can play a key role in structuring campaigns, automating the tracking of deadlines, and centralizing information related to professional careers.
With SAP SuccessFactors, this evolution can also be an opportunity to evolve its interviewing system and better exploit HR data.
